Chess Club
Are you interested in learning how to play chess? Or do you already know how to play? Are you looking for other chess players? Come join The Beacon Heights Chess Club! The BH Chess club is run by volunteer parents and chess coaches. The club will meet in the library from 3:20pm - 4:20pm on Tuesdays from October through March. Space is limited, hurry and sign up for the fun!
The club and coaches are funded by parent donations, and the majority of the donations will be used towards paying the coaches. We anticipate chess club donations being approximately $20 per child for the school year. Registration will close as soon as the space is filled up. Girls on the Run
One session in the spring (March-May). Dependent on parent volunteers for coaching and student interest. Open to girls in 3rd-6th grades, and a minimum of 10 girls is needed. Race Cats
The Race Cats Cross Country/Track Programs runs from September through October (Cross Country) and March through May (Track). It is designed to introduce kids of all experience and ability to the empowering and life-enriching practice of long-distance running and track through a positive experience that emphasizes FUN and rewards effort, attitude and personal bests. Beacon Heights Green Team
The Green Team meets one Friday a month after school. Students learn and practice how to be responsible stewards of the Earth. They participate in hands-on activities and are leaders teaching the school community about sustainability. Team members participate in maintaining the school garden and help compost from our lunchroom.
