About Me

Last school year was amazing!  We all were focused on our academic goals and had many successes that we are very proud of, every student made growth!! Students, parents and staff were a team with only one goal:  happy, curious, and focused students.   We really want to thank everyone for your efforts to make the school year such a strong one.  Sadly, we bid farewell to great teachers and staff as they moved to new and exciting adventures away from Beacon.

For the 2019-20 school year, we want to welcome Ms. Amy Melinski, first grade, and Ms. Linda Lesue as our new assistant principal.  Some minor changes in staffing are:  Ms. Emily Dejong becomes a full time media specialist and Ms. Wendy Child becomes a full time counselor. Ms. Sarah Rasmussen moved to third, Ms. Amanda Lau moved to second, and Mr. Dan Halverson moved to fifth.  All staff are ready and excited for the new school year!

We will continue to work hard to improve our academic knowledge, to improve our efforts to work together to accomplish hard goals.  We want to give special thanks to our community partners who donate so much to ensure quality education for each child.  Thanks to R. Harold Burton for providing music for k-3, Beverly Taylor Sorenson Foundation for visual arts for k-6, University of Utah Children’s Dance Theater for k-3 dance, and University of Utah Children’s Theater for 4-6 theater experiences, our SLCSD for the 4-6 music program.  Thanks to all of our parents who continue to donate to our arts and our science programs.  Always, we will go forth with respect for others and a humble appreciate for the work of all.  We want you to know that we are all here for you.  If you need help, you can go to any adult in the building to ask.  We love you and want you to be not only academically challenged, but also want you to love what you are doing to learn and to grow.

I wish you the very best school year, full of love, learning, and friendship. Nothing makes life better than helping others, getting help from family and friends, and accomplishing goals.
