About Me

Hello!  My name is Miss Lords, and I am so incredibly excited to start my first year teaching at Beacon Heights!  I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, with an ESL Endorsement.  I student taught in first grade, and I am so honored to be a part of the amazing Kindergarten team here at Beacon Heights!

I was born in Provo and lived in California, Texas, and Japan when I was very young.  I lived in Lehi from when I was in kindergarten to seventh grade, then moved to Murray where I graduated from Murray High School.  I spent most of my time growing up in the dance studio, where I was trained in Ballet, then joined the MHS Drill Team in High School.

Traveling has always been a big part of my life.  My dad has lived in Tokyo, Japan since I was in 2nd grade, and my mom has recently moved back to Utah after living in Seoul, Korea for two years.  I have been lucky enough to travel to Japan, China, South Korea, and Thailand.  Thailand is definitely my favorite place I’ve been- I got to meet my favorite animal (elephants) and feed her bananas!

I have always loved reading, and I am so excited to help encourage a love for reading in my students.  One of my goals this year is to help my students see reading as a fun activity, rather than a chore.
